What happens if I miss my (connecting) train?

Here’s the good news: You’re never short of connections in Switzerland. As long as you haven’t missed the last night-time connection, you can simply get on the next train. In most cases, there will be another connection available within 30 minutes.

Point-to-point tickets, day tickets, regional passes and Swiss Travel System tickets are not tied to any particular train. This means that even if you miss your connection, your ticket will continue to be valid. So you can simply take the next train.
The supersaver tickets are an exception to this. Since these are sold for up to 70% less than the usual price, they are only valid on a specific train on a specific day. So if you miss your train, your ticket will no longer be valid and you will have to buy a new ticket for the rest of your journey.
