How can I explore Switzerland by boat?

Switzerland not only has its mountains and eternal ice to thank for its magical scenery, but also countless rivers and lakes. The closest rivers and lakes are never more than 15km away – and with a Swiss Travel Pass you can explore many of them for free.

The many boat trip companies on Switzerland’s lakes and rivers have a different timetables and seasonal offers. But don’t worry: The boat timetables have been carefully coordinated with the departure and arrival times of buses and trains. So you can get on board in peace, without the need to wait for a long time.

In addition to the normal daily timetable, many boats also offer themed trips. Maybe you’d like to discover Lake Thun on the Fajita Cruise? Or perhaps a Sunset Cruise on Lake Lucerne? Find out all about the range on offer on the websites of the boat trip companies.

But you don’t necessarily have to go on a themed trip to enjoy culinary delicacies: hot food and drinks can be enjoyed on almost all boats. Prior reservation for the ship’s restaurant is not required for individual travellers.
