How do I reach Mount Pilatus?

Lucerne's very own mountain offers a varied range of leisure activities in natural surroundings. A rope park, a toboggan run, lovely hiking paths and a trip on the world's steepest rack-and-pinion railway will turn your outing into an unforgettable experience. You can reach the valley stations of the Pilatus railways in Kriens and Alpnachstad by public transport (train, bus or boat). The rack-and-pinion railway takes you from Alpnachstad up to Mount Pilatus. In Kriens, you change to the panoramic gondola lift that takes you via Krienseregg to Fräkmüntegg station. In Fräkmüntegg, you board a modern aerial cableway that takes you to the peak of Mount Pilatus.

If you are travelling by car, take the Luzern Süd (Lucerne South) exit to the valley stations in Kriens or Alpnachstad.
