What is the Chocolate Train, and which route does it follow?

The Chocolate Train starts out from Montreux, taking you in first class accommodation to a show dairy, 'La Maison du Gruyère'. Here, you'll discover the world-renowned Gruyère cheese – its history dates back to 1115! Then you visit the little mediaeval town of Gruyère with its castle. You can explore the world of chocolate at 'Maison Cailler'. Your excursion is completed by an idyllic journey back to Montreux over hills and across verdant meadows grazed by typically Swiss black-and-white cows.

Your train ticket includes all entrance charges and your seat reservation. The Swiss Travel Pass gives you a discount of 30%, so the excursion will then cost CHF 69.

The Chocolate Train runs every day in July and August, between May and June from Monday until Thursday and between September and October on Mondays, Wednesdays und Thursdays.
