What is the Bernina Express and which route does it follow?

The route over the Alps on the panoramic Bernina Express train takes you from Chur via Filisur, St. Moritz and Alp Grüm to Tirano in Italy. From Tirano, you can take the comfortable Bernina Express Bus to travel on to Lugano from February until about mid-November (program and travel time subject to change).

You can board and alight at any of the stops, but you must continue your journey on the same day. (If you break your journey, you must renew your seat reservation.) The Swiss Travel Pass is valid on the entire route. All passengers aged 6 or more require a seat reservation. Meals and beverages are available in the train's bistro.
